Opening of the Greek Pavilion, House Warming Performance, May 27 Venice

SADAS-PEA

Official Opening of the Greek Pavilion
Greek Pavilion Giardini 27 May 17:00

Activation: House Warming Performance for the Place of Commons
Collective Event Open to Participation
Greek Pavilion Giardini 27 May 13:00-17:00

We invite the participants in the collective project # ThisIsACo-op and the visitors of the Biennale to participate in an active dialogue in the Greek pavilion’s amphitheater on the link between architecture and conditions of vulnerability, precarity, self-organization and action.

We consider our pavilion to be a common ground of dialogue and communication for the international community. The amphitheater construction, which is a central element of this year’s pavilion, can host meetings of architects, associations and movements. The national participations are welcomed to pursue in situ proposals and solutions to the common fronts.

We invite you to partake with your words or your performative acts in the space of the amphitheater and confront the problematic we have set as Greek participation: being a collectivity, space as commons, the city in crisis, the refugee crisis, and the crisis in the architect’s profession. These reflect the overall post-colonial treaty of displacement, of precariousness and fragility that our country and other countries of the South are going through.
